Thursday evening: between 7:15 pm and 9:30 – 2 hours of Argentine Tango Mini Workshop.
Swansea Town Hall: 95 Lavinia Ave, Toronto
Something special for those of you who already dance Argentine Tango. We know how precious your time is, so we decided to make your trip worth it. We have two hours of technique of some of the most practical and quintessential stuff you could use in your Tango: Boleo and Barrida. We’ll talk about leading and interpreting, couple dynamics, floor craft and placement, and of course musicality.
Workshop 1: 7:20 pm – 8:20 pm: Practical approach to boleo.
Boleo is one of the staples of Argentine Tango. Both good leading and good interpretation are required to make this visually attractive thing a pleasant element to dance. There are many ways one can make one boleo different from another, and there are many ways one can lead a boleo, to make this element achieve quite a range of visual results.
Workshop 2: 8:30 pm – 9:30 pm: Men’s Barrida vs. Lady’s Barrida – the ever present struggle for beginners and intermediate dancer alike… How to make it comfortable when he wants to swipe her foot, and furthermore….. how to make her sweep his?
